Detective's Guilt - Details & Thumbnails

This story was done for Show and Tell #1. Mark Stinson had actually drawn page 5 for a horror story back in the late nineties. He never finished the horror story, and the drawing went unused and unpublished for several years.. Mark liked the drawing so much, that he wrote his 5 page story just to lead up to the unused piece as a final image!

Some of the art was done on smooth bristol with a Prismacolor black marker. Some of the pages were done in pieces, with individual images scanned into the computer, and composited digitally. Most of the zip-a-tone effects were done by scanning in an old piece of zip-a-tone, and using Photoshop's "stamp-pad" to put it in place. On page 1, actual zip-a-tone was used for the tree's shadow.

Mark Stinson is the writer/artist of Void Pulp Comics, as well as Stygian Tales…a book containing all of his short illustrated horror stories to date. Visit
