Albert Fish

Albert Fish was every parent’s worst nightmare: a cannibal fiend in the guise of a kindly only man, who lured children to their death with the promise of a treat.

In 1928, Fish befriended the parents of a twelve-year-old girl named Grace Budd, and offered to take Grace to his niece’s birthday party. But, there was no party.

Fish took Grace to an isolated house, strangled her, butchered her body, and took several pounds of meat home.

Over the next 9 days Fish enjoyed a meat and vegetable stew with Grace as the main ingredient. Fish got away with the crime for 6 years, but was finally taken into custody after police traced a letter sent to Grace’s mother back to Albert Fish.

Fish admitted to molesting more than 400 children and killing at least six of them... though dozens more were hinted at.

Fish was a masochist, as well as a sadist. X-rays of Fish’s groin area revealed 29 pins and needles which he had inserted there.

On January 16, 1936 he died in the electric chair.
