Citizen X This Russian serial killer's real name was Andrei Chikatilo, is known to have killed 52 people in Russia during the 1980's. He became known as Citizen X or Killer X because this was the name assigned to the unknown suspect's profile during the investigation of the serial murders. His victims were stabbed multiple time, and the eyes were lacerated. The attacks were described as extremely violent, and there was evidence of canibalism. The victims were grown women, and children...both boys and girls. In court, Chikatilo was kept in a large metal cage in the courtroom. |

| During the trial Chikatilo would drool and roll his eyes, and twice
he pulled open his pants, exposed his penis, and screamed "I am not a homosexual." During the trial, at times Chikatilo would deny some of the murders...sometimes he would add murders he was not charged with. In all, he claimed credit for 70 murders...though only charged with 52. In 1994, when the appeal of his conviction was denied, Chikatilo was taken to a special soundproof room and shot behind the right ear, ending his life. |
