John Wayne Gacy

Gacy was born to a blue-collar family, with an alcoholic and abusive father. In 1968 Gacy was convicted of attempting to coerce a male employee into homosexual acts, and was sentenced to 10 years in prison. His wife filed for divorce and an angry Gacy completely disowned her and his two children.

In 1971, Gacy was paroled after 18 months and moved to Chicago. In 1975 he started a contracting business and remarried. Gacy spent part of his leisure time hosting street parties and entertaining children at hospitals dressed as a clown. He was also involved with the Jaycees and the local Democratic Party. Gacy’s second wife divorced him in 1976...due to his moods and obsession with homosexual magazines.

In 1978, a teenage boy disappeared and Gacy was the last person seen with the boy.

The police checked Gacy’s record and began investigating him. Realizing he was about to be revealed, Gacy went to the police and confessed to killing 33 boys between 1972 and 1978, burying 28 of them in his crawlspace... and dumping 5 into the Des Plaines River.

Sentenced to death for 33 murders, Gacy spent his time in prison painting clown portraits and granting interviews. When Gacy received the lethal injection in 1994 his last words were, “Kiss my ass.”
